My approach to counseling is rooted in empathy, trust, authenticity, and collaboration. I take a person-centered, strengths-based style towards counseling with the intent of supporting you along your journey to reach your desired goals. I believe that through the counseling process, an individual can acquire coping strategies, positive self-growth, and authentic living. I aspire to create an inviting and comforting environment, devoid of judgements where you can feel open to showing up as your true self. My philosophy towards counseling is always evolving to incorporate various techniques, concepts, and methods. I integrate existential theory, mindfulness techniques, and behavioral therapy approaches such as acceptance and commitment therapy.

I have been practicing in the mental health field for several years working with individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, life transitions, existential concerns, and other mental health issues. I graduated with a Master of Science (MS) degree, specializing in clinical rehabilitation counseling from Portland State Graduate School of Education & Counseling. I have a background in the arts and value creative thinking and expression which I will bring into my sessions. As a certified clinical rehabilitation counselor (CRC), I have worked with individuals across the disability spectrum: those who deal with psychological, cognitive, neurological, physical, and intellectual disabilities. I live with a spinal cord injury and identify as an individual with a disability which allows me the privilege to make a deeper connection with those who deal with chronic conditions that may impede on their desired quality of life. I have worked with and consider myself a part of the disability community here in the PNW.

Through collaboration, we can examine patterns, life experiences, thoughts, behaviors, influences, and relationships that have shaped who we are. From there, we will develop an individualized plan tailored to identify strategies, methods, and resources to assist in attaining your desired outcomes. I know that seeking and participating in counseling can be a challenging endeavor and I look forward to assisting you with this potentially rewarding venture.
